Happy Thursday a/k/a Friday eve friends! How's the week going for you? Mine is going pretty well thus far. I feel like pre-tracking and making my lunches the evening before has definitely been helpful. While I didn't get as much done as I wanted over the weekend, I was determined especially with the July challenge helping me stay motivated. I saw another YouTuber that I watch from time to time talking about something that I know I need to focus on, which is not just splurging on the weekends. In the past, that has really been my weak point. My hope is that after really trying to focus on the July challenge this month that I will break that habit and it will be a little easier to continue with my focus.
I have been looking back at how different things were when I originally started this weight loss journey. Back then, I was really focused. I wanted to lose weight and used that momentum to help me do just that. Each meal wasn't completely on plan, but I focused on sticking within my points allowance. I measured, I weighed, I looked up points for whatever it was that I wanted in order to figure out how to make it work into my points allowance. I think it may really be time to go back to basics. I often measure and weigh, but I think this is the perfect time to make sure that I do all of that AND make sure that I look up things that I want while eating out. I can make this plan work for me, just like I have in the past.
I've also realized just how far I've fallen from where I once was. Let's be honest, I am not getting any younger. Dealing with high blood pressure, which I didn't deal with at my heaviest, I need to focus on getting my cardiovascular health back to where it was. If things change, like my workout habits certainly did, my cardiovascular health is also going to change. I am definitely working on improving that with the walking that I've been doing. Have you noticed a change in your cardiovascular health? Hopefully you have and it's for the better. Until tomorrow, friends! Have a great one!

I have been feeling much the same way, that I have drifted very far away from what has worked for me in the past. Back to basics for me too!
ReplyDeleteSometimes the simple basics are right where we need to settle! I don’t weigh my food but every once in a while I have to measure and weigh...over time my portions get distorted...so yes..back to the basics for a bit is good!!!
