Happy Friday friends! I hope that everyone is having a good week so far. As I stated earlier in the week, I joined a challenge last week to get my steps in, get a Blue Dot and drinking my water. I had an odd situation arise on Wednesday. This is truly one I have never really experienced quite like this before. I was craving fried foods and by craving, I mean I could seriously taste it. I have not experienced that before. I am proud to say, however, I stuck to my planned lunch and dinner and did not give in to my fried food craving. This is a week, so far, that I am proud of, no matter what the scale may say.
I am sure many of you have heard that WW is re-branding and making some changes. I am not normally a fan of change, but I honestly think that these changes will ultimately be great for all of us following the plan. Removing the artificial sweeteners, colors, flavoring and preservatives by January 2019 is something I am truly excited about. I cannot have the artificial sweeteners because of a possible reaction anyway so this is really important to me. You can find more information here about the changes. Those of us that have been on this journey for any length of time soon find that focusing solely on the scale can be a disappointing prospect. There are simply times that we can do all the same things that we did before, but, for whatever reason the scale just doesn't move. I won't say that I'm not proud of what I have seen happening on the scale, but I've learned that it cannot be my only source of measurement of my efforts. For WW to also make this an official part of the journey, I think will be a great change since it will change the focus to being mindful and making healthy choices. Healthy choices and habits are important to truly making this last a lifetime. I don't want to keep recycling my weight or having it yo-yo repeatedly. I want to lose this and for it to stay gone. In order to do that my habits truly need to change and I need to not just focus on just one part of the journey. I know there are many of you that have been with me on this journey for some time and you know that I have lost it, regained, lost and I simply don't want to keep doing that to my body.
I know not everyone follows WW or perhaps has chosen to do another eating plan, but this has worked for me before and I feel confident that each of these changes will help me hit my goal and then change my focus on another goal. 2019 is going to be a great year for me and I'm certainly trying to change my habits for the last quarter of 2018. Are you already thinking about your goals?
I had no idea Weight Watchers was making any changes, so I followed your link and read about it. I really like the Wellness Wins idea. I don't know what the rewards will be, but it's always good to have something to work toward besides the scale's reaction. I thought calling the meetings "studio" now is a bit odd, but maybe they think it sounds cooler and more inviting.
